SINGAPORE - A mixed commercial and residential land parcel in the upcoming Bidadari housing estate - whose scheduled sale last year was deferred - was launched for sale by the Housing & Development Board (HDB) on Monday (March 6).
The 2.54 hectare site can yield 825 private homes.
The Upper Serangoon Road plot is next to Woodleigh MRT station and is the first sale site at Bidadari, a new public housing estate envisioned to be a "community in a garden" with greenery and car-lite features.
The 99-year leasehold site was originally on the confirmed list of the Government Land Sales programme for the second half of last year but its sale was postponed to allow the site requirements for comprehensive development to be finalised.
According to details of the tender by HDB, the mixed commercial and residential development will be integrated with a community club and a neighbourhood police centre.

The development on the site will also include a commercial bridge across Bidadari Park Drive towards Bidadari Park, and an underpass to connect to a bus interchange in Woodleigh Village BTO.
The total 89,043 square metres of gross floor area for the site includes 53,426 sqm for residential development, 6,000 sqm for the community club, 2,190 sqm for the neighbourhood police centre, 15,000 sqm for shops and restaurants, with the remainder for commercial uses.
Analysts expect the site to draw keen interest from developers, given its attractive location and potential demand from prospective homebuyers.
The tender for the site will close at 12 noon on June 13.
